Design and Development 2013-present Currently, Mike is working with the San Francisco-based product startup LaunchDarkly. He is helping them design and develop a new marketing website.
CSS and Wordpress Development 2013 Mike recently worked with Unbounce’s creative team to develop The Conversion Marketing Glossary. The WordPress site features over 100 words, with related content and video.
Pencilneck Software
CSS Development 2013 Mike worked with Pencilneck Software to develop page templates and style guide for Woolworths. The templates are built to make it easy for other developers to roll out white-labeled themes.
UX Design, CSS and Statamic Development 2013-present Mike also worked with iHeart, designing the user experience for their marketing website and continuing to develop the site using Statamic CMS. The site features a customized checkout experience and members area.


Forge and Smith
UX Designer Vancouver BC, 2013-2014 In 2013, Mike joined Forge and Smith, a boutique web design agency that specializes in WordPress. Mike started as a CSS developer and later moved into the role of UX designer. He worked with each client directly to plan the information architecture and design a web experience that focused on content and usability.
The Level
Web Designer Vancouver BC, 2011-2013 After his departure from Absolute Software, Mike started working at The Level, a content management system vendor in its early days (now, a web agency). Here, Mike had his first experience working at an agency, where he specialized in designing multilingual web experiences across desktop and mobile devices. Notable clients included GolfBC, Coast Hotels, and Hawaii Tourism.
Absolute Software
Web Designer Vancouver BC, 2007-2010 After moving to the Vancouver in 2007, Mike began his career as a web designer at Absolute Software, a device security company. He helped relaunch Absolute’s website supporting 11 languages and successfully rolled out an internal social network.


Graphic Design Diploma
College of the North Atlantic St. John’s NL, 2005-2007 Studied colour theory, typography, illustration, packaging, lithography, website design, and art history. During this time, Mike also received the bronze medal at Skills Canada, a nation-wide web design competition.
Multimedia & Internet Development Diploma
College of the North Atlantic Clarenville NL, 2003-2005 Studying Multimedia & Internet Development, Mike gained a broad range of skills, including graphic design, 3D animation, audio and video production, and programming. He also graduated with honours and received the President’s Medal for highest academic standing.
